HomeRoom started with a simple frustration: running a classroom meant juggling a dozen browser tabs, sticky notes, and half-finished tools that were never made for the people actually standing in front of students. So a teacher built the one he wished he had.
Every tool in HomeRoom exists because a real classroom needed it — not because it looked good in a feature list.
Hi, I'm Jeff — two decades into teaching elementary school. I know exactly what it feels like to have 15 tabs open by 7:30 AM, so I started building a calmer workspace for my own room. When colleagues saw it, they wanted in.
HomeRoom is designed, built, and run by a teacher in Nova Scotia, Canada. That means decisions get made the way they would in a staff room, not a boardroom: keep it fast, keep it calm, and never get between a teacher and their class.
The ideas that shape every decision — and that you can verify in our privacy promise, not just our marketing.
On the free plan your classroom data stays on your device, protected with AES-GCM encryption. No ads. No data mining. We never sell your email, your rosters, or your habits — to anyone.
HomeRoom is a tool for the teacher. Students don't create accounts, so we don't knowingly collect information from children. You decide what goes on the screen — first names, initials, or pseudonyms.
HomeRoom doesn't run your data through AI today. If we ever add optional AI tools, they'll stay opt-in — if you don't turn them on, your data never touches an AI provider, and if you do, we'll only ever send the minimum required, nothing more.
New accounts start with 60 days of full Pro, free, no card required. After that, Free is $0 forever — every tool still works. Pro is $20 a year (regularly $30) for live multi-device sync and Remote Control, a founder price you keep for life. That's the whole pricing page.
HomeRoom is based in Nova Scotia, and Pro cloud data is encrypted at rest on secure servers located in Canada. If anything ever compromised your account, we'd tell you within 72 hours — in line with Canadian privacy regulations.
